  1. Personal Favourite

It doesn’t do anything new or spectacular, but what it does it does very well, and that is provide tough but fair HL2 combat, with great visuals and custom music to boot.

  2. Play It Now!

I really liked this mod, especially the last fight.

It is cool how the difficulty affects the game so you can replay it a few times.

This mod had good combat and it could be challenging sometimes so I give it 5 stars.

Man I must be getting Old! Can’t even find the crowbar to get passed the first Room!…

    1. Break the window with a heavy prop.

Anyone running this on Linux with success????

        1. asterixer

Nope, i hase only lines and light….

  4. Play It Now!

I had a lot of fun with this mod; especially the final battle. Overall, a solid run & gun HL2 experience.

  5. Play It Now!

This mod isn’t revolutionary by any means but the quality is good on all fronts; gameplay seemed to be well balanced with a nice distribution of goods, some small puzzles in predominantly the start of this mod, and some combat that reached a peak in a nicely designed arena-type area at the end. Exploration of areas ‘off the beaten path’ is rewarded with extra goods. Visually it was pleasant to the eye with vibrant colors outside and not too dark indoors. The custom music was indeed a good addition. All in all a very solid mod!

  6. Play It Now!

Completely enjoyable, from the visuals to the action. Its recommended to be played at ‘normal’, and that’s probably the best. Easy would be just that. In other words, some other maps try to be too difficult on the mid setting for me.

  7. Play It Now!

Nice quality with some good gameplay. Why did we need the MapBase files?

    1. You need the Mapbase files because some features it has are used in this mod.

  8. Play It Now!

Lot fun with hard difficulty the combat very nice had tough some time. The final battle had get me like but some visual had a bit cheeky, but music choose was really fit well to this mod. This is short campaign of this mod with some experiments far of HL2.

Installed everything into /home/john/.steam/steam/steamapps/sourcemods/mapbase_hl2, but textures are missing.

    Any suggestions out there?

    Thanks

    John

    1. asterixer

i gave up, because you can copy the mapbase files in the sourcemods folder but it seems that we have special server.dll and client.dll in the mapbase folder.

      1. John

        Might be windows only mod

    2. Unq

The folders go into Sourcemods, not into mapbase_hl2.

copy all the folders (mapbase_episodic, mapbase_hl2, mapbase_shared, rebelsurge) into your SourceMods folder.

      1. John

Unq, I did load them into /home/john/.steam/steam/steamapps/sourcemods. My original post was a typo. Thanks for catching that.

Still cannot get it to work on Linux. I think this is a Windows only mod.

        1. Unq

Oh, too bad, I hoped that was the issue. Yes, with the dlls likely Windows-only, sorry.

          1. John

Noticing that on most of the new mods. There’s a lack of support for Linux systems.

            1. Same for Mac too. Sadly, everything looks like wireframe here. Bit gutted :/

  10. Play It Now!

I had a lot of playing this! Fun combat scenarios and really good music. Nothing too crazy but a lot of fun anyway.

  11. Play It Now!

This is a fun mod. I prefer more puzzles and less combat, but I won’t hold it against the mod. The atmosphere is great, with all the ambient clutter and sounds. Although I couldn’t find any differences between the difficulties. (other than damage values of course) Are they obvious differences or more subtle?

  12. Play It Now!

Its Short but sweet. I love the custom Citadel Model in the distance and the lighting is nice.

  13. Play It Later

Takes Place In city 16 which is new. I mean there isnt much to the mod, But i think its really cool how Gman uses the Beta Speech. Its Short but sweet 😀

  14. Play It Now!

Short and interesting! I really like the combination of the music and the last fight.

    1. Fix: Difficulty played at hard -> medium

  15. Play It Later

Looks and plays ok. Not sure why it needed to be a mod with two maps.

  16. Think Twice

That was just a very short and not-that-well-made alternate version of the Anticitizen One chapter of Half-Life 2. Not even having The Flight of the Valkyries as music for the helicopter boss fight could save it.
And what made me not give a “maybe” but instead a “think twice” is that, being made with the Mapbase mod, I would expect more given that you can make more with the tools it gives you… but I saw no small change, let alone grand with such at disposal. Perhaps it was best to work on it a little bit more to bring something more than the same
