  1. Phillip says Maybe

Like all “inside” jokes, you will have either have to have heard of or play the original this mod parodies, otherwise, it will just seem like a stupid mod, which it is, but it also stupid for a reason.

Reviewing these sorts of mods is difficult, because you have to decide what you are reviewing: the author’s ability to parody the original OR the mod itself.

Considering this was made in 24 hours, I feel ethosaur did a great job of making something that highly resembles the sections he made AND making ti quite funny.

To sum up, play this if you want a laugh and a wry smile, but don’t go looking for fun gameplay or cool situations.

    Maybe?

I must confess that I bought into the hype and paid full price before release of HDTF.
So this is a bittersweet laugh for me.

Add “-threads 8” or whatever the correct number for a better play experience. I have an AMD CPU, so I don’t know if it will help Intel CPUs or not.

Only play if you know about HDTF and have played it otherwise skip it.

Holy Crap; the scripting, it killed me. Brilliant.

    Maybe?

I guess this is a tragicomedy tribute to HDTF. A big, big joke till you reach the end.

The maps were just ridiculously HUGE as the HDTF maps! I guess that’s, kind of the point.

Combat is very linear and predictable, but wait, I already mentioned it is a big joke??

    Yes, I did.

    Maybe?

The unfortunate aspect to this is why bother giving any more attention to HDTF? Sure it’s a meme but the sooner people ignore it the faster it fades away.

On its own this mod is huge and mostly annoying, due to the antlions all over the place and the snipers which you can’t take out. As a parody? I don’t care, honestly. I never cared about HDTF and always wanted it to go away.

The impressive part is that it was made in 24 hours. Maybe this is worth your time.

  5. Play It Now!

I thought that it was a good story and one that I would go back and play again. It took some smarts to plan the route and keep ahead of the challenges put in my way. It’s your call, Play It Now, or Play It Later. Play It.

  6. Maybe?

Yeah I must also add that I didn’t “get it” and it’s also nothing like HL2 should be… but I still enjoyed it. That shotgun lol, and those Antlions where a pain. Although and I was glad some didn’t move – unless you got too close. The ending? Hmm… Anyhow, this was oddly good fun and worth downloading but I doubt I’ll ever play it again!

  7. Dope

If you believe me, then you have a problem ( I laughed with this )

  8. Maybe?

    Simply superb Open World Gameplay.
It made me chuckle even though I’ve only heard of the controversy surrounding the shitty HDTF game, not played it.

  9. Play It Now!

Сool parody, well done in 24 hours. Nice OPEN WORLD gameplay.
