  1. Phillip says Play It!

I had a lot of fun with this. It’s a simple design but pretty thoughtful.

Some may not like it because you don’t actually kill anything directly, but I enjoyed the change of pace.

This is perfect for a coffee/tea/soda/milk etc break.

  2. Play It Now!

All right, that was a little strange but oddly fun!

No weapons (directly), no Armour just puzzles, I’m surprised I liked this. For looks, it’s much better than I’d expect from a map this size and for the short time it took to play, I enjoyed it.

Without any clues to back it up I’m guessing the author is an old hand at mapping or a student at somewhere such as the SMU.

  3. Play It Now!

Overall, it was extremely short but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The puzzle design reminded me of The Trap. But at the same time, it kept through it’s own simple play style and atmosphere.

I must say that the ending was visually appealing and worth the effort for a Half-Life mod.

I’m kinda hoping that the author will make a sequel with a more satisfying experience and a longer playtime.

  4. A nice little puzzle map. A refreshing change of pace. I kept hoping a crowbar would show up, but that wasn’t the map’s purpose

  5. Play It Later

Think of this as a HL1 Research and Development, albeit on a far smaller scale. There are a few little puzzles to go through, all involving killing enemies without weapons. The graphics are also quite nice considering it’s only one room!

The only issue I had was some difficultly pressing the right keys on the keypads, but this was probably down to the engine not the mapper.

This was a fun short map, and actually is pretty clever, and the gameplay feels great as is not just a pure combat mayhem, actually there’s a lot of enviromental traps, that are just nicely done…

  8. Maybe?

Not for me at all. “Maybe” was a generous rating, more out of embarrassment of my opinions after seeing what others have rated it, rather than anything else.

The headcrab gets lasered but nothing happens to it, nor will the door open while its being lasered or under any other way, or whether the fan is off or on, and it won’t jump at me through the fan.

It then seemed the appropriate thing to do to jump into the fan and kill myself rather than have that headcrab continually jumping me. The end 😉

    Maybe?

A short little puzzle map. It shows some cleverness and you have to be quick afoot. Not much to the map itself, but it’s fairly well designed for what it is. A decent diversion for a few minutes.

  10. Play It Now!

There’s no real difficulty in the puzzles except for the skill needed to dodge the enemies, which you’d probably acquire by the time you play through the first chapters of half-life 1. The lighting is surprisingly good for a goldsrc map. I have definitely enjoyed it, as short as it may be.

  11. Play It Later

I have to say, this wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Its premise is simple, but it’s done really well. Mapping-wise, it’s all made the way these maps should be. The “puzzles” themselves aren’t anything special though; it’s just waiting for an enemy to hit an explosive and that’s it. It’s really short too.

Overall, I would recommend this. It’s not a lot, but still, it’s great if you have 5 mins to spare.

  12. Play It Later

Not much to say about this map, but this is quite entertaining. I love the creativity involved in these puzzles. Each puzzle gets a bit harder until the end when you have two enemies attacking. No crowbar, or weapons at all. I didn’t encounter any bugs playing through this. 7 minutes and 5 seconds.
