Escape. A simple word but one with many possibilities.
In this old school mod, you simply have to escape.
Don’t expect beautiful views , clever puzzles or rewards for careful exploring.
Expect some fun shooting enemies though!

I have made two files available; A mod version and the maps. The maps just need to be installed into your EP2 maps folder, whereas the mod version needs to be installed in your SourceMods folder. In this case, either option is fine. I generally don’t like installing files into my base installation, but it’s only 5 map files and they can easily be deleted after you have played them.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I played this. Five maps that might not even be joined together (not sure why I though that) but what I got was a very fun run through some very simple settings.
It doesn’t sound like much but I really did enjoy it. With some better planning, story elements, great visuals and some puzzles elements and this could be an absolutely fantastic mod.
All in all, I enjoyed the simple gameplay and would recommend you at least try it. Just be aware that it’s not going to look very nice.

It’s plain and simple good ‘ol no-frills action just shoot everything and escape! Looks ugly and feels extremely old skool but what’s not to enjoy with a little gun love?
I enjoyed most of the trip through these levels but I’d say Map 5 was the weakest of the bunch. Overall there are some good BAM BAM shooting maps here but nothing compared to what we normally experience from HL2. Anyhow, I enjoyed it and thanks for making a mod/map version (i used the maps method myself)

I enjoyed this, sure it’s not as polished as glass like some mods/maps, but it wasn’t that bad and the gameplay was very good I thought. It was actually a lot larger than I thought it was going to be. With a little more time spent on it, it would be brilliant IMHO. It flowed well and there were no almost impossible puzzles to solve, most things worked as they should, though I could get stuck at ladder tops sometimes, but jumping as well as moving forward solved that mostly, except for one gantry I just couldn’t get on, but that was only for ammo and I had plenty anyway, so no big deal. For me it was a breath of fresh air after some of the things we’ve been offered recently…run and gun, do give it a go..it’s fun.

I really enjoyed the good amount of traditional HL enjoyment, shooting and fighting. As previously mentioned it is larger than expected. The only thing is the fighting tends to get repetitive. It not a mod that outsmarts itself! I definitely recommend.

It’s not fancy but it’s a steady set of maps that I enjoyed. I played the mod version which worked absolutely fine. There are a variety of enemies and you even get to use the Magnuson Device in a couple of places. The combat is pretty balanced and you always have enough ammo and healthkits around to keep you going. Definitely worth downloading and playing.

Runs under Linux after renaming the maps Folder of the mod to lowercase.
I guess the best way to depict this mod is “old school”. Is full of frontal but tactical combat, linear progression and a strong feeling of Multi-Player arena maps displayed as a Single-Player layout.
Overall I like the whole intense combat on it until you reach the end, although I’d also have loved a basic storyline, which could have been easily inserted into the mod.
All the way this is a fun medium length mod to play.

If I didn’t dislike the combat system of Half-Life 2 so much, I’d have enjoyed this mod. But alas, I don’t, and this mod offers absolutely nothing but combat. I stuck through it, and some parts of the game are incredibly difficult – to the point where I had to literally cheat to clear them, and by the end of the game I just got bored.
If you enjoy the combat system of Half-Life 2, you’ll like this, but personally, if I could vote, I’d give this a think twice.
It was a fun little package But like some other reviewer the general feeling was: “if this and that was present it would have been a really great mod”
What I like :
+ clear progression with enjoyable combat
+ increasing difficulty
+ the first part were you progress verticaly and finally can see from where you come
+ not only horizontal but also vertical progression and combat
What I dislike
+ repetitive texturing and environment
+ too squary to even boxy design
+ miss of variety in combat and challenge
+ too repetitive design for the last part with all those swinging door in continuous hallways
+ lack of surrounding (not accessible) design and area
+ no music no cooperation (at least trough voice acting), lack of sounds

Ooh… I done it!
The first thing that you will see is a simple level design. But after the clearing of the first map you will understand why I like this mod so much. It is a interesting and hard gameplay. I appreciate the gameplay more than the level design (because I can’t make a good level design too).
Some technical troubles (cut textures of the map, combines are turned back to the player, manhacks don’t know how fly to player and so on) say that author do not know a many in mapping yet. But it doesn’t stop him to create a interesting mods.
Keep it up!

If you want combat but are too lazy too make your own areas than play this mod. It’s basically a combat sandbox. What I mean by that is, is that the mod is pure combat. The maps look very blocky and basic. Combat works well in the maps, but that’s all the positive.
I enjoyed this mod, though. As I said, the combat works well and is enjoyable. For the most part. After some time it starts to get stale, with the same enemies over… and over… and over. There is also too much ammo lying around. You shouldn’t feel bad shooting enemies with an SMG at long range, because you will easily get that ammo back.
There are some parts where you are basically forced to take damage, which is not a good thing.
Overall, play this mod if you want some fun combat but nothing more.

Pretty boring mod. The maps lack ambient sounds, music and diversity. The gameplay is very corridor, like a Сall of Duty.

Groups of 10 or more identical combine soldiers will spawn in front of you at the end of an open area with no cover so you just have to save scum through it. You lose all of your weapons partway through & then are immediately dropped into a pool of toxins after which you have to fight a bunch of combine soldiers who all have pistols while you have a gun & you’re missing a lot of health & suit.
Enemies pop up out of nowhere & you can even occasionally see them spawning. There are always manhacks in every combine encounter & nearly every fight is a combine encounter. No story, no puzzles, & no ending. The mod just cuts back to the title screen. Shortly after losing your weapons, you get most of ’em back anyway so it was a pointless sequence.
When a mod’s default difficulty setting is Easy, it almost always means it’s just a tedious chore full of enemy spam with little to no cover & the creator couldn’t be bothered to deal with it on Normal. This mod is no exception.
Looks bland. Game play is ok. Hate when they take my weapons. Don’t care for the end.

It was going on and on and I wasn’t sure when the final battle would start. I liked it and would play it again.
Well the description is at least honest.
First, level design. It is pretty bland and very linear until map 5. At least map 5 has some variety to it when you reach the base. There is one part of map 5 that serves no purpose at all. Right before the end, there is a room that will take away your weapons. But what’s the point of losing your weapons if you’re gonna get them all back seconds later? Just keep the weapons!
The combat is pretty balanced most of the time. Sometimes they spam a number of combine soldiers at you and they keep throwing grenades nonstop. Some areas are so spacious, soldiers with SMGs are at huge disadvantage, making the game very easy. Remember that SMGs are not designed for long range combat so them trying to hit you would be nearly impossible especially when you’re taking cover.
There’s no story, there are no puzzles, just an old school run and gun combat. I suggest playing on hard mode to make it more challenging. So if you are into pure combat and no puzzles, then this mod is definitely for you.
