Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

The helicopter drops you off and right into an ambush.

Get out and kill those soldiers, then work your way through the base.

Plant the C4 and hide behind the couch in the room nearby – THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

With luck, you will make it back out alive and back to another waiting helicopter.

Manual Installation Instructions
  • Copy the Sector6 folder into your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life folder.
  • Restart or start Steam.
  • Sector 6 should now be listed in your Library tab.

Custom Grid View Icon

The file above comes with a grid view icon. To use it, select “Grid View” in Steam (top right corner). Make sure you have saved the image to a location on your computer – you can’t use it from the compressed archive directly. Right click on “Sector 6” and select “Set Custom Image”. Then browse to where you saved the image and choose it. Then click “Set Image” and that’s it. Installation with MapTap will not automatically set the custom image.

Of course, you can create your own custom image if you prefer.

    You know how some things are so bad that they are funny? Well, this is one of them.

    The level transitions are terrible, the general designs is very amateurish and the actual gameplay not much fun. Couple those with the fact it’s not in English (not a problem in itself) but it’s almost impossible to know what to do at one point.

    In the red area, plant the C4 you found in the nearby room on the floor with the symbol and go back to behind the couch in the nearby room. Then detonate the C4. I tried for ages to workout what to do and in the end, I took screenshots of the text and translated it via Google.

    I really wanted to say AVOID IT!, but I want you to also feel the frustration and anguish I just felt – does that make me a bad person?

    Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

    Avoid It!

    Ugh! Where to start? Terrible lighting, you start without an HEV suit and only a little ammo, and the transitions between maps are really bad. One minute you are in a dark map going down a hallway and then the next map loads and the light level is super bright. You get stuck between maps sometimes too and have to noclip to get out. The only way to get the part with the explosives to work is exactly what Phillip described, but it makes no sense whatsoever.

    Do yourself a favour and avoid this one.

    Such a great mod. That C4 puzzle must be one of the biggest “what the heck just happened” moments, lol. Maybe it was good idea on paper, but mapper needs a bit more help..

    And like said before, theres lots of problems during map changes.

    Holy crap this is a horrid mod. Terrible level design, awful lighting, ridiculous level transitions, horrible gameplay. There is literally nothing good I can say about this trainwreck.

    What a waste of time. It’s not even funny.

    Avoid It!

    Once I noticed all the warnings from the recommendations, I just take my proper precautions before I played this thing, and I just give myself a whole bunch of weaponry and ammo via “impulse 101” cheat and at least this way the mod for me was ok to play.

    Now, obviously this mod is pure bad quality, and actually there’s no reason to talk about mapping because its horrid indeed; boxy, narrow, stupid transitions between map and so on… then the level design is horrible too, with lots of backtracking and filled with quite super hard enemies.

    So I think maybe the only “good” points from this mod is the new weapons models and the sound of your assault rifle, I just loved that sound, but maybe in a better mod I would have loved it more, apart from that here we have pure garbage.

    Also the foreign language is maybe Czech, so that got me thinking; if Russian mods are strange; Czech mods are possibly between the worst of all the HL1 universe, not all but many of them are just horrid, so horrid that could make you puke until you die. LOL 🙂
