Author’s Note

Another Night of a Million Zombies map! This particular map takes place in a tunnel, and once again pits you against the hordes of undead. The difference this time is different and “special” zombies. There are several “special” zombies, such as red (Poison zombie) ones that explode when killed, a few almost boss-like creatures, and even the regular zombies start out with more health.

This is to make things a bit more difficult, as the zombies’ health will go up as you last longer and rack up more kills. All the weapons in Half Life 2 are available, as well as respawning ammo for them, except for the Pulse Rifle’s secondary “pulse orb” attack. You can expect another map coming out soon, as well, the 2nd half of this map.
If you’re a fan of zombie maps, love impossible odds, or just looking for something new, this is the map for you.

Important Note

I have repackaged this release as a mod. In addition, it is set to use the SDK 2013 Base Singleplayer engine. I have done this as it means that Half-Life 2 is required. Which means that ANYBODY with a Steam account can play this. If you do not wish to install the SDK, then you can download the file and simply copy the “NOAMZ” map into your Half-Life 2 maps fodler and it should work.

Manual Installation Instructions

If you require more help, please visit the Technical Help page.

  • Make sure you have the “Upcoming” branch of the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed in Steam and run at least once. (Properties – Betas – select “upcoming” from the dropdown list).
  • Copy the noamz-tunnels folder into your …\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods\ folder.
  • Start or restart Steam
  • Half-Life 2: Night of a Million Zombies: Tunnels should now be listed in your Library tab.

    Pointless and terrible.

  2. Phillip says Play It!

The key to Mister Dan’s series of map releases is simply stress relievers. if you start playing any of the three looking for detailed environments, clever story-telling techniques and objective-based gameplay then like Jigron says above, it’s pointless and terrible.

However, if you just want to run around for a while killing zombies and perhaps seeing if you can beat your high score, then this is fun.

Expect little more than that and you may enjoy it.

They’re not bad actually. I enjoy the quest for all weapons before going after the zombies. Maybe as an improvement could be capping the number of zombies at say 500 because it does get repetitive after a while. Get them all and you’re done.

    Think Twice

Yet another million zombies map. I don’t really even find them good as stress relievers. This one is fine, it at least has some varied areas although I think it’s misnamed ‘tunnels.’

As usual, explore and find the ammo and weapons. I never did find the RPG but held out for 300 some kills. The zombies are tougher here and there are a couple special types (red ones explode on death) so it mixes things up a bit. Still pretty boring though.

I guess technically this is the best map of the NOAMZ series. Also, it has a little bit more variety of zombies, but the dynamic of killing them endlessly still is in this version.

I really didn’t like this kind of mapping arenas. I still believe these series of 3 maps of the author could be better if he would’ve planed a coherent end.

I also disagree with Phillip “stress relief” kind of map, because this one is really stressing and annoying most of the time. If I want to stress relief killing zombies then I’d try a good L4D2 Campaign and not this one.

I understand this is from 2005 and L4D games didn’t exist, and maybe back in that year this could be fun. By now, it is not anymore.
