This is a weird one. It seems way to hard to be fun but I suspect some will love it.

It’s essentially a mostly destructible arena with plenty of enemies and few helpers. There’s a couple of vortigaunts and maybe even a rebel.

The reality is that I couldn’t find much ammo, although there is plenty of health and suit power on the top of the main tower, as well as a weapon that is not used very well.

I don’t really know what else to write here because it’s simply an arena and if you enjoy that style of map, you will probably love this.

This is definitely a MAYBE recommendation from me as the style may not suit everyone.

I challenge you to beat it on HARD!

Combat arenas can be fun. This is not fun, this is awful.

It’s a too-big “arena” that is terribly designed and just has everything thrown in. A handful of snipers (which you can see but not kill apparently) are the main threat once you leave ground level, but the frustration factor is sky-high here. Skip this one.

Too Hard, Made to Punish You

I played for a very short time before I turned on God mode and started looking around. I did like breaking everything.

There is also a lot heath and ammo, but it’s hard to find and get to. I did find Barney and Alex.

If you have to play something in God mode, then skip it.

  4. Think Twice

Well, that’s 10 mins of my life I’ll never get back!

Talk about OTT but this kinda reminded me of the old Doom maps when your massive/open world would be overrun. Great idea but at least the Doom mapper would supply you with better weapons AND you’d be within a world that’s illuminated with – this map is annoyingly dark so you can hear all sorts of commotion but can’t see jack!

What’s with all those Hunters and Alien bosses. Worst are the snipers. Imagine if they were on our side… hmm

Whack on God mode and have yourself a few minutes fun. Otherwise, a fun idea badly executed.

  5. Maybe?

This map is a real challenge in a lot of ways. It’s definitely not impossible though, because I managed to kill every npc in this map on the hardest difficulty without cheating (except for wallhack cheats in the end to see if i killed everything). There isn’t a lot more to say about it, so here’s the rest that this map has to offer:

    The Gameplay

As i’ve said above, it’s tough. By the moment you load the map and hear all the snipers, the gun shots, the electrical bolts from the vortigaunts, the antlion guards and the explosions, you immediately understand what you will be up against. The weapons you start with are the crowbar, gravity gun, and the AR2 with only 30 reverse ammo. So if you start shooting everything you see, you will run out of ammo in a matter of seconds. Luckily though, there are some “safe zone” areas if you can call them that, which have a ton of health, ammo and batteries which will recover most if not all the damage you have taken. Included in these safe zones are rpgs, which are very handy against those snipers and the packs of hunters/antlion guards that are placed around.
One of the biggest disadvantages of this map is the fact that it’s badly unoptimized. The whole map itself is rendered at all times, which means that if, for example, you’re behind a wall, everything behind that wall is still drawn, which pushes the engine to the limits if too much is rendered. Combine that with the hundreds of enemies decreases the performance even more. This is why you must never polish a map like this, especially a warzone map. Always compile with vvis set to normal. Furthermore the environment is dark, sometimes too dark, which doesn’t fit with the way of how lit the skybox looks like at all. This can make enemy encounters even more difficult than before. There’s also a metal pipe which you can get into, but the snipers can shoot through it and deal massive damage for some odd reason.
The entire map took about 55 minutes to finish, even though at least 12 of these was just running around to find more enemies or health because the layout is too damn confusing to understand. There are no lights that guide the player anywhere, so you have to figure out everything by yourself. Finally, there is no ending on this map, so you get no real satisfaction for killing every enemy.

    The Visuals

Horrible and lazy. There are brushes that are floating in mid-air, and the overall texturing job is dull. It looks nothing like a map that would make sense in any way. And unsurprisingly no ambient sounds either. In other words, there is no detailing on this map. It’s just a clutter of brushes placed on top and next to each other, with some pipes in between.

    Conclusion

Avoid this if you never liked arena styled maps. Even if you do there are a lot of better choises instead of this one. If on the other hand you’re looking for the most challenging arena map, you have come to the right place! Only your skill will lead to victory! In the end your reward is a moment of silence..

  6. Avoid It!

I’m sorry, but I’m just gonna say NO to this one. This map is terribly designed, has very bad enemy placement and it’s overall pointless. You are given not even the slightest amount of ammo you need to kill 3 hunters, but the map puts you up against like 20. I don’t even know what its goal is, I guess it’s to reach the top?

I feel really bad when I give AI ratings, and I haven’t done so in ages, but this map is simply bad and not fun at all.

    Avoid It!

God! Seriously?? I mean, how anybody can love this?

I consider myself a gamer that indeed likes arena maps. But sorry. This was horrid.

The weapons were very well hidden and get to them is difficult as hell as you have many snipers at the top of that weird structure shooting to kill almost at anything that moves below.

Also, there are a million Hunters and as you start with few weapons and scarce ammo you can barely Kill a couple of them if you are skilled with the AR2 bullets!

I guess the only way you can have fun with this map is if you port it on GMOD and throw a Nuke Bomb on it. Which is precisely what I’m going to do!!
