    What about C1 and C4?

    Maybe?

There is only 2,3 and 5.
Single map. Run around or sneak on platforms and ramps in a big room. Shoot human grunts, find the scientist. 10 mins play. OK.

  3. Avoid It!

A tiny map, more looking like a 1st try of a simple deathmatch map than a SP map.
Only one big room with ramps, ladders and soldiers, boring.

    Pro’s:
-Plenty of ammo from the soldiers
    -Many healthkits

    Con’s:
    -Simple mapdesign
    -Too easy difficulty
    -Less playtime
-No HEV at start, must be “found” 1st
    -Absolutely no puzzles, story etc.

  4. Phillip says Maybe

This really is a very short map. It has no puzzles and there is no story or objectives besides killing all the enemies.

Maps like this can be useful for improving your technique or trying new keybindings, but not much more.

It’s hard not to make the comparison with a multiplayer map but it’s certainly not as hard. I said MAYBE because I enjoyed jumping around and shooting, but if it had lasted much longer I suspect I would have got bored.

  5. Think Twice

just amazing to see that my second boy was born the year of the release and now he is taller than me…back then is has more a filling of a arena map à la Quake 1 or 2 I think is was part of the first release for Half-Life back then…there is not a lot of thing to do except killing some grunts that why I wont avoid it it’s part of HL beginning history 🙂

  6. Maybe?

    Simplicity at it’s best.

The map is a huge area with platforms, that resembles more of a CS Knife-Only map. You must basically kill grunts to save a scientist. No puzzles, no originality, nothing. This is a pretty empty map.

Overall, if you really want something to kill time with, then look no further.

    Think Twice

If you want to experience how is like to play a Deathmatch map as a SP. Try this. Is just 5 minutes of blood rage against some very easy grunts and the point is to reach the scientist but actually there’s really no point at all because nothing let you know when the map is over, I mean, after you kill all those grunts we have not advice at all that you can quit now…

I also see no point in having this 3 maps separately, as they can fit into one map pack, anyway is just too short to give this a higher recommendation, so I guess this is the perfect Think twice.

    Think Twice

As promised, not much of substance here. It’s a few minutes of combat with grunts that gradually attack in a large room with ramps. It’s pretty ugly but functional.

I accidentally killed the scientist with a grenade so the map didn’t end for me, I just gave up after it seemed all the grunts were gone. The only reason this doesn’t get Avoid It from me is the intensity of the combat. Play on hard for a tough time.

  9. Avoid It!

Ah… another single-player deathmatch thingy, I already reviewed the three games in the “series”, and the same review goes for this one too, too short, too easy, not clear ending, just you, a bunch of grunts and more weapons and health that you could ever need, play it if you want to kill some 5 minutes of your time, otherwise, avoid it

  10. Maybe?

On Hard pick as much armor as possible while the first soldier don’t bother you too much because if you kill it, much more will come and try to either stay away from grunts or use platform levels. Those armor pick ups are what you need. Believe it or not this map is not so easy on Hard. It’s too easy on Easy of course. Try to use your intuition and never get close to a grunt. If not your chances of surviving would be minimum. Why? It’s an open field mostly, that’s why. And players on open field are just EXPOSED.
