Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3
Author’s Note

“The purpose of this level was to make an interactive environment that dynamically changes during battle. I designed and implemented several scripted events involving the enemy AI and destructible environments. I also worked closely with my professor to iterate on enemy behavior and path-following.

  1. Phillip says Maybe

I quite liked this one but since it’s so short and there’s little combat it’s hard for me to recommend it.

I did enjoy the new gameplay mechanic of sliding down the rope though.

5/10 minutes worth of fun but little else.

  2. Avoid It!

Nothing particularly good. Kill zombies, kill combines and it ends. Design is bad too. You don’t need to try this.

Great fun – very very briefly! More from you, Andrew Nguyen, PLEASE.
    Better yet, extend this map..
    Very well done indeed.

  5. After having played through probably a hundred maps and standalone mods I am always left thinking if it would be possible to aggregate a number of smaller maps designed by various developers, set load points where there would normally be either end points or no ending at all. I would personally appreciate being able to play through a bunch of stitched-together maps could it be done I wonder?

oh yeah factory looks great I will definitely give it a play tonight.

  6. Maybe?

Very well done. I’d give it a PIL or PIN if it were longer!

I was busy checking the main floor of the factory when the last Combine came up and I killed him and it was over!

  7. Avoid It!

It has a nice sense of scale and a decent atmosphere, but that’s really all the good things I can say about it. Supply crates with no crowbar/gravgun is a major pet peeve of mine, and none of the combat feels planned out, it feels like the mapper just put them there. As you can see, it also only took me two minutes to play through. It’s ridiculously short and not very fun, so not recommended.
