1. Phillip says Avoid It!

This is one of those maps that really shouldn’t be uploaded but I suppose when you have built something you want to share it.

The gameplay suffers from a change in the mechanics to certain things that caused me to die and try lots of thinges before I finally worked out what to do. The author hasn’t seemed to grasped the concept of “accepted gameplay”. If you change something enough you need to ensure the player can learn about it in a controlled environment.
It’s not hard to see but because it is so different from what we have been shown in the past it can cause problems.

I would like PP readers to play it (Assuming you want to after reading this!) and then read the spoiler below.

SPOILER BELOW
The duct grate is very different from previous ones in that it is not possible to see through it. It certainly makes a normal noise when hit but takes many more hits before it smashes.

There is little fighting and the headcrab entry is stupid. Don’t play this: You have been warned.

Only some change is good.

I have to admit when I saw “escape by dragon” I was wondering how in hell they would recreate Harry, Ron & Hermione escaping from Gringotts on the back of a dragon. true story. I’m so lame.

Maybe?

Phillip, I think you’re too hard on it – I’ve played far worse, and I quite enjoyed it.
A little short, and the appearance of the headcrabs a little strange, but it’s OK

Think Twice

Mostly I’m with Phillip on this one. For the curious, like me, download, play, delete.

5. No chance. I’m a visual guy, even if gameplay is perfect, if visuals are not atmospheric enough ( that doesn’t neccesarily mean high quality textures or effects) I can’t play a game. From what I see from scrrenshots, this mod has no chance. Lights without sources, meaningless environments, repeating textures, bad lighting etc. etc…

7. Think Twice

For the person who has to play all mods, it’s something to do.

Not as bad as some I’ve rated TT, but not as good, either.

I don’t know why the author made the grates, etc., 2-3 times as hard to break as normal. I can accept it, but there should be a logical reason.
You’re probably going to die the first time you encounter it, so “to get the adrenaline pumping” doesn’t work in this case.
8. Avoid It!

Possibly the worst FPS level I’ve ever played. It’s linear, it’s ugly, it’s poorly lit it’s boring, the only enemies you fight are headcrabs, there are three vent grates and they all take abnormally long times to destroy and it ends pretty much randomly. Don’t play it.

9. Avoid It!

The level is linear and bland. The puzzles are literally the worst. At first I thought it’s gonna be a decent one like I’m gonna use my brain to figure my way out but no. All puzzles are pretty obvious and common sense. Combat sucks either, fighting 6 headcrabs and run away from combine soldiers. This is not worth a play
