for Black Mesa

12th October 2015

With no other human around, at least not alive, it falls to you to find a way to escape.

Luckily, you have some weapons and armaments, use them wildly and you might make it.

Whatever the hell happened here, it’s not your day to die!

  1. Phillip says Maybe

Not really much here to interest seasoned players. Certainly not a bad map for a “First Map” but too many spawning enemies in front of you, which don’t really offer any challenge.

That, along with no exploring and nothing pretty to look at, means it’s only a MAYBE from me.

  2. I remember playing this and not completing it because I thought it was really freakin’ hard. Not enough health/suit items at all. When things go bad in Black Mesa, they go bad really fast. 10 HP here, 20 HP there. Also, as the comments said, there’s a lack of ammo too.

  3. Maybe?

It’s a decent looking but very short little map with a decided lack of ammo. I played it a second time with more attention to conserving precious resources and it’s definitely doable. You just should never shoot at anything that you can kill with the crowbar instead

  4. Maybe?

There really isn’t anything special to see here. It’s certainly a tough one to beat, but this is mostly because of the lack of health pickups, as well as the constant spawning of enemies directly in front of you. This means that you have to engage the threat then and there, rather than having the chance to seek out cover and fire from a distance. This makes the combat really dull.

  5. Think Twice

Definatley should have put more time into development before releasing this.

The map plays as I would expect and fits the BM theme but the map is lacking in a design standpoint, small corridors only with the same four enemies throughout, why there was a health and suit charger at the end for one enemy confuses me.
visually the map is very blocky with the most detail area being the elevator shaft where I spent more time dealing with annoying ladders than anything.

My advice is to spend more time in development before your next release, those who were looking to play this may as well think twice.
