Games Room

for Half-Life 2: Episode Two

24th February 2012

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

“Your goal is to open the main door, by finding 4 numbers to the door code.

You can obtain this numbers by winning in 4 games. You can also guess all numbers just by rotating the wheels (but this is very unlikely). For now the door code is fixed, that’s mean is not random and it’s always the same.

After you beat the map for the first time, you know the code. My next step is to implement random generated code for the door.

There is no story. Just do whatever you want to do and have fun. Try everything in gameroom.”

  1. Phillip says Play It!

Play it. Really, it’s a lot of run. I didn’t manage to beat all the games, but that’s not too important.

The feel and lighting are excellent as are the various implementation of the games.

Zwieracz is a talented modder and I just wish he would plan and create something larger and more worthy of his obvious talents.

Highly recommended, even if there is no combat.

  2. Play It Later

Its worth a play. Not really my style but I’m sure alot of players will have a bit of fun. I didn’t really care for it much

  3. Miigga

The memorisation puzzle didn’t work right. Sometimes it would allow me to pick three or four slots at the same time before checking if they match. Sometimes it would not recognise matches.

The Space Invaders game wasn’t working very well either. Most of the bullets I fired were somehow emitted from behind the alien spaceships rather than from my spaceship.

The melon-throwing and piano-playing did work correctly, though.

Also, having to spin one of the wheels to
7 when it started from 8
was a ridiculous pain in the ass considering how slowly it turned.

I like the idea behind this map, but it’s so glitched that’s it’s not really worth playing to be brutally honest.

The visuals are very nice, however.

  4. Play It Now!

It’s a fun little map. The puzzles aren’t perfect as noted above, but you can work around that pretty easily. Definitely worth trying once

Soo Cry of Fear is finally out!!!!, and I thinnk i’m going to set many mods appart untill I fully finish COF, so I will be recomending this one maybe in few days or a week, also COF is about 1G long!!, so I don’t know if it’s long as G-String.

Back to this mod, it looks really cool and is very very interesting just to see that main screenshot with the “space invaders” sight!!, so definietely im going to try this and it looks there are fun in this for sure.

Well guys just to warn you, I CHANGED MY MIND!!, I definitely will play current mods and reviiew them includded this one at once, the reason: well at least for me COF is bull with annoying bugs and I have had lots but I mean LOTS of bugs, also you have no quick saving key on COF which it makes the things even harder when you are at the beggining of it and therefore the mod crashes and you have to start all over again!!!, yes is that annoying.

So in case ure trying to play COF be warn this verssion is too primitive and has a lot LOTS of bugs or issues……

  6. Think Twice

Nice idea, similar to Todd Gorang’s “Game Master’s Lair” map, with the notable exception that nearly ALL the games are broken. Space Invaders first — nope, broken. Bullets are rarely visible, ships move very erratically, impact is random & virtually impossible to predict. I then played Grigori’s message — sputtery & broken, maybe that should have been a warning! Next, the memory game, also broken. Sometimes as many as four tiles flipped before it checked any sort of match, then of course they all reverted. Matches also randomly not registered, same as Miiga’s experience. It finally let me ” win” with 4 tiles still unturned! Next the organ – so long as you hit the right notes, it doesn’t matter what order they’re in, or whether they’re interspersed with wrong ones! If it were The Goonies, the floor would have collapsed long ago… The melonator — pointless? I never had the physcannon to shoot melons through the hoop, but the room let me ” win” anyway. I put 2 melons in the rubbish bin — something munched them, err.. yes? Point please? Very much like Elektryk’s Station Well map here, but apparently without the objective. The whack-a-gnome was the only thing that seemed to work properly, and was actually fun. Having to rest a stapler on the ” e” key to rotate the combination lock whilst I went away & brewed up — very annoying! All in all, initial excitement turns rapidly to disappointment. Full marks for trying, just a real shame it’s so broken.

This map is a nice rest, but I need old good classic combat fashion for my likings, some of the mini games are implemented ok, like the gnome smashing, or the memory game, but the space invaders was kind of unsolveable to me and the watermelon throw, I think is with the grav gun, which I didn’t get anyway is noice to play if u want to try something differnt. I want old fashion combat.

  8. Maybe?

In short: A collection of neat gadgets made more of a skill showcase than a level but its quite interesting to look at, also quite a pretty map although overall more style than substance.

    In long:

It’s a promising start the player is greeted with a huge vault mechanism, rusted metal and the groaning of machinery, the environment is sold seriously well unfortunately the map doesn’t work, to be more specific space invaders (one of the games you can play) doesn’t work, the aliens don’t move properly and the lazer is buggy, its an impressive attempt though.
Both the whack a gnome and match games seemed to not work very well with the game, with the match I kept selecting tiles that I wasn’t pointing at and the gnome I kept not hitting gnomes I had in my crosshairs.
The piano game seemed to work without incident but it wasn’t particularly interesting to play it.
The vault mechanism and the screens looked awesome but in practice it was a slow and clunky selection method and half the time you can’t see what number is up and turn the wheel at the same time and that is annoying.

Skilled mapper but this map isn’t actually fully functional.

  9. Play It Later

The space invaders game is quite broken, nearly unplayable because everytime I shoot, it goes behind the enemies. The rest are quite easy, the piano is not that fun either for me. Everytime you complete a game, you get a number for a combination, you only need three because you can just guess for the last one and that’s about it. Fun at first but it gets old quickly so “play it later.”
