Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3
Background Story

“My name is Thomas Edwards, a Citizen under the control of the Combine Wave of Death and Destruction. I can still remember when the Combines arrived in England, It was in all the TV stations. It didn’t take long before the Soldiers arrived and took what privileges we had. It isn’t even England anymore.

I live in a small flat in London , from what I’ve heard all over the world the Combines have been Destroying homes and countries. We all watched as they tore down London, from famous buildings to homes. They built a Fortress up near the coast of England where the Combines working in England Operate. The Fortress is a heavily guarded and is next to impossible to reach alive. Vortigaunts have been there and what we’ve heard it all bad. They are holding prisoners and torturing them for information on how to find a Dr Freeman.

I am sick and tired of Combine Soldiers bullying us or sending us to the Fortress as prisoners. So I’m going to that Fortress and Destroying it, its wont be easy but hell its better than staying under their control.”

  1. Phillip says Maybe

I’ve played woprse but it really isn’t very good. I haven’t said Avoid It! becasue some of the gameplay is challenging but the visual and basic level is not very good.

    SPOLIER BELOW
You need to ensure all the jumper mines have been activated to drop the large forcefield. That in itself is pretty stupid – it should be the opposite.

Now I am writing this I am having doubts about whether to actually change my recommendation!. Anyway, check the screenshots and see if you like the look of them, if you do, play it, if not then you have only wasted a few minutes.

    Action in a huge box.

I somehow like the colour palette and story in this map, a shame the mapping is terrible, because the look of that map had some potential actually.

    Maybe?

It is OK but promises much and delivers a little
3/10 for each gunship + 1/10 for game play + 1/10 for the sense of humour (eg 5 or 6 grenades chucked at you but all fall back down the hill and blow up the chuckers) = 5/10.
I think it is worth a play – just the once, then delete and forget.
Disappointing end but it is a demo.
As Sortie says, lots of potential. Pity.

Work started in 2005, will be finished?

  5. Can’t people find a way to make a mod fun other than spawning too many combine soldiers? Where is fun?

  6. Maybe?

I remember playing this one in 2006 it was ok according gameplay but flat and uninspired regarding design It was still a little enjoyable regarding the positive points mentioned before

  7. Avoid It!

Absolute zero. Not fun a single bit. Lots of randomly placed soldiers in a (or is it three?) room.

I didn’t get any of the mines to spawn, for some reason. Then I did a reload and the AI had turned itself off, which I couldn’t get going again. So, I ended up just starting a new game where the AI was ok but still no mines.
By then I wanted to at least see what was going on down at the other end, so I ended up stacking the two barrels outside the start point on top of the ammo trunk at the first station, then pulled them up onto the roof and got up onto the large main roof (after I’d thrown a few rpg’s up there to kill the gunships) and sniped my way to the finish on foot. LOL But yeah, basically just a gauntlet of enemies, but still a better job than what I can do, as I don’t know how to use the builder. How to rate it? I’d have to say play it later.

  10. Maybe?

Of course it’s just a demo so it’s not very good but the gameplay is interesting.
It’s a shame that this mod died because it was on a good way.

  11. Maybe?

    It’s okay.

I think it’s kind of silly when I use the RPG as my main weapon because of the unlimited ammo. There was unlimited ammo for the pulse rifle, too, but I used the RPG more (more convenient crate?)

The only challenge was shooting down the two gunships I couldn’t see well because of distance? Fog? Something? I don’t know what force field Phillip is talking about, because the last/main one didn’t drop for me until I killed the third gunship (I’d already triggered all the mines–maybe he means a different force field that I didn’t ever see or maybe I missed seeing some mines).

The biggest annoyance was the AI disabled bug.
