    Oh… :)))

No reviews of this? I’d better check it out and see what it is like.

    Maybe?

This is a short but tough mod so play it on easy first time around otherwise you wont get far. It’s mostly Grunts with a mix of aliens but with so many placed in confined areas it takes some beating. Basic design sets with little content plus textures on the bright side, nothing new. it’s worth the challenge and will keep you busy for a while getting through the first Grunt encounters.

Why do I have the feeling that this mod had some more comments?! I specifically remember “Well, what do you know? History can be changed!”. Pardon me if I’m mistaking it for some other mod, maybe even that which required to travel back in time to kill someone’s parents or something..

    Maybe?

Yes, same as Mel said. Good challenging start with not much ammo till you kill a few of the grunts (if you can), makes you creep round every other corner and jump back from opening doors in case you get more of the same. I liked it. Way too short.

  7. 7 screenshots added courtesy of piledriver – thanks.

    Simple but very entertaining.

  9. Avoid It!

I wish I can describe this map (it’s not really a mod) a bit better but I can’t.
There’s no story as I expected, the readme file is filled with hieroglyphics (guess it was Russian Kyrillic letters first) and the map itself is just odd..

It looks like your mission to turn back to whereever and clean out the soldiers and aliens until..it suddenly seems to end.

    Pro’s:
    -Tactical combat required
-Plenty of ammo (after looting soldiers)

    Con’s:
    -Looking very unfinished
    -Very short
-No story, just weird rooms – also no puzzles
    -Tough beginning (Gruntfest)
-Stupid AI (soldiers sometimes don’t shoot, just standing around)
    -Basic leveldesign
-Ends on a lil trainyard outside, like never finished

  10. Think Twice

Nothing really interesting, but the map don’t “Ends on a lil trainyard outside”. You should enter the “blue teleporting thing” to finish the game.

  11. Avoid It!

    Boring. Avoid it.

    Avoid It!

Didn’t have high hopes for this, but I didn’t expect it to be quite as terrible as it actually is. It’s as if the mapper released one of his first couple maps ever made.

The three reviews immediately above have it right. It’s boring, yes, but also really hard. The hallways are tight and you’re only armed with a crowbar and 9mm at the start, with about 10 grunts to get through until you get to the only reward in the map, a health charger. I resorted to using the peashooter and sniping around the corner.

I can’t say whether it’s unfinished, but it doesn’t matter since an ending wouldn’t save this map. Avoid.

  13. Think Twice

This is far worse than I expected.

First of all, I have to warn newcomers about the fact that this is hard. I mean VERY hard. So I would recommend this to HL veterans only. Anyway, this mod just feels unfinished. The combat, even though is hard isn’t fair at all and starting only with a 9mm pistol and a crowbar is not the correct way to map. Also, the environments are empty, there is no reward for exploring and the ending… there is none. I suppose the mod ends in this railway thing.

Overall, I don’t really recommend this. It’s bland, too difficult for most people and just unfair. Play this at your own cause.
