MAPPING CHALLENGES

2010 - 2015

Overview

Starting in 2010, regular mapping challenges, originally called mapping competitions, have been run every year. Each challenge has a set duration and a theme.

As well as creating new and original content for the site, they also have the aim of providing motivation for modders and mappers to increase their knowledge and experience.

All the entries are collated into one mod at the end of the deadline and released on the site. The mods require Half-Life 2: Episode Two, except a Half-Life challenge, to be installed and run at least once.

Below you will find each year's challenge in reverse chrological order. At the bottom of the page is a Details table, which can be re-ordered and filtered instantly.

You can also view the Mapping Challenges as a sortable and filterable TABLE or in the standard EXCERPT view.

From 2016, the challenges were part of a longer series, with a points awarded for each challenge and a grand prize given at the end of the year.
