for Half-Life 2

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half Life 1, 2 and 3
About

The main hero (Jack Whyton) is a prisoner, who escaped from prison together with others. But on the second day their hideout was already attacked by cops. Jack managed to escape from the police. But he didn’t know that he is the subject of a very dangerous experiment and that some kind of Xen creature was implanted into his body. If a human will be able to control it then he would be gifted with special abilities, if not – then he’ll turn into a monster…

The game takes place in City 14 approximately the same time as when the original HL2 did. City 14 is part of a network of four cities connected together, which create an industrial sector of the combine. The cities are City 13, City 14, City 16 and City 17. Recently the entrance to City 16 was closed because the city itself became very dangerous. Until that time it was isolated from other cities, but after the incident at the combine base in City 13 the combine forcefields were disabled.

a must play sp hl2 mod!

brings back alot half-life 1 themes into the source engine along with new weapons with their own cool reload scenes.

best for players on all skill levels just alittle bit more challenge towards the end.

Down point lanuage barrier the storyline is not in english.

Best point its episode 1 more too come Sweet!

    verdict 98%

I really liked this one too. It’s a little short for the big download, but that didn’t stop it from being fun. I really liked the mixture of HL and HL-2 elements, and some of the scenery was very nice. My only caveat was that the NPCs spoke Russian when telling you what to do next, so it was hard to get immersed in the story.

Played it through in one day on Normal, so it is not very challenging. A lot of walking though underground passages that get repetitive. The most unique map in the forest had very little action. The Russian dialogue without subtitles puts a dent in the enjoyment. I did like the new automatic rifle. Overall a 6/10, but I felt like I’ve been through this before.

  4. Sadly I couldn’t get through the full mod as it kept freezing on me in a precise place. My PC or the mod, I don’t know. Everytime a particular alien showed his ugly face it froze!

But what I got to play (up to battling the vortigaunts on Xen) was very good. The forest was strangely unihabited. Why bother to create all that space then have so little action in it?

What is bugging me is that since playing this mod and having to do a few CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart, my Steam or HL2 installation has become corrupted. Hitting F6 to quicksave freezes my machine now no matter what Steam game I’m playing. A lesson learned: if something is buggy and keeps crashing, don’t persist with it; you’ll probably break something.

it seems this is made by the same people that made the two danger mods

  6. This mod is quite interesting through revisiting a part of Xen experience. The design is quite average and not really detailed with a lot of hallway and texturing not always used in the best way. Gameplay is quite easy but add at least a new beast (end part) and a new weapon. Also the new music is a breath in some place making it trilling. Some nice effect are shown at the end ‘doom3 style” but the worse thing is that all voice acting are in russian not influencing the gameplay at all but certainly the compehension of the episode…still interesting to play trough but most of the time it will take as much time to load a map than to play it. (average time of playing 1h30 to 2h)

  7. Inferno Flame ZERO

When I try to install this mod, near the end it said: missing buggy.VTF material. and yes I D/L it from here

  8. I also had the problem if my computer freezing up at a particular Vort in the last chapter … repeatedly. Finally, I realized if I don’t look at it while it’s getting ready to zap me & then kill it while he’s “recharging”, I had no problem. I also had to do this again on the Vort right after that. From there on to the end, it worked fine. I was pleased just to see a mod that actually incorporated Xen into it. I don’t know if there are any other out there. I thought it provided a lot of gameplay & while someone mentioned that the buildings were a bit repetitive, I thought it was laid out well as where exactly to go & what you needed to do. No problems of getting lost or confused. I the only thing I saw missing was possibly a strider fight or airship battle. I enjoyed the forest part so much (just for the shear scenery), I felt like pitching a tent at one of the fires & roasting marshmallows. Could have been more action there though. There also could have been more to do in Xen. There were some times that combines were permanently suspended in air while fighting. Overall, I thought it was well worth the d/l.

I really liked this mod, but the Russian speech was very annoying with no sub titles. Besides that, the only problem I had was it froze one time when I shot one specifics Vortigaunt…so I just ran past him. Apart from that, it’s a really good mod. P.S. It seems that alot of textures are from HL2 Substance.

  10. Play It Later

It ran smoothly on my crap PC, so thats 2 stars right there. A bit linear but not bad for a dungeon crawl. The Xen seemed like it just used HL1 textures but creative nonetheless.

Way to buggy. Crashed several times in the same place. From now on, I only play MODS in english, as sometimes it is crucial to understand what is being said. Thumbs down!!!

The download link doesen’t work for me.

  14. Avoid It!

Again another page with a dead file link or no link at all. I’m just leaving a review so it no longer comes up in my search. It’s not on Moddb either.

    1. already available on Mod DB
