Single short map. Good design. Fairly tough. Not much ammo. You must fight at close quarters and take damage to get through.
This must have been one of the first HL1 Custom mods/maps I ever played. My records tell me that I purchased this on disc with others from a UK retail chain known has “Works” which sells cut price books and other stuff.
The only comment I made then was that it was “Good but Short’. See piledriver comments above.
Aside from being ridiculously unfair, Sepulcher also manages to be a downright bland, short, and pointless level.
Sepulcher would be a half decent level by today’s Half-Life-SP standards had it not been for the incredible degree of difficulty. Consider the first fight, for instance. You have a crowbar. You’re against 3 marines that have a terrain advantage, and while fighting the second and third marines, you have to worry about two turrets. Not my idea of fun.
The mentioned fight is just barely beatable, but for me that came after 4 or 5 deaths, and requires perfect timing and planning. Even in the easy setting, I wouldn’t bet on yourself passing this level without dying many times.
