Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

You find yourself in an alley that leads to a small trainstation.

From there you need to follow the clues and reach a specific point.

Be careful because your way is blocked at certain points and the use of the airboat is recommended, although not required.

  1. Phillip says Maybe

I found this map via Grinder74.com (Polish), whom in turn found it via MappingArea.com (French). I am not sure if this will ever be finished, so I am posting it now. The name is just the file name, since the author says it doesn’t have a name.

It’s not a bad map but it lacks something that seems hard to define.

    Visuals and Sound
I actually think that unless you look at the details the overall impression is quite good. I really need to pay more attention but I didn’t notice any music.

    Gameplay
Not enough fighting, at least for me. Some enemies placements were too obvious and I would have liked to have seen something more inventive.

    Layout/Design
Has the amateur feel of lots of changes in a short space. I see this a lot in new mappers and I presume that they feel the need to use many textures and area design to show then can. Personally I would have preferred a complete outdoor level with a much clearer final objective.

    Summary
I finished with a feel that the visual were good, the layout okay and the gameplay a little lacking but somehow the total was less than the individual parts. It never really drew me in or excited me. This is a good example of making sure that the final result provides the player with some feeling; whether that’s excitement or joy at exploring, something.

    5 Words Or Less Review

    Sugarless eye-candy, needs some emotion.

A nice little map. Lasted 1/2 an hour during lunch time sandwiches. Not enough gameplay – lots more enemy and a boss fight would have made this a PIN.
I hope the author does more. Oh well, back to work.

    Play It Later

really enjoyable one with some continuation music and a little bit more challenge would have been a personal favorite

  4. Play It Later

A good map, with a few minor glitches. A larger Combine presence would’ve made this a much more enjoyable level for me.

    Maybe?

Well, looks pretty nice but is very boring to play.
Also I didn’t know how to come through the fence after you have shot the cable off the transformator?
And at the canals with the boat I had no idea where to go now

  7. Maybe?

It was fun, after I finally found the crowbar. (I had sinking ground in the first areas of the map, so it may have been hidden–I only found it by walking over it.)

In the sewer area I couldn’t walk on the ramps so I could whack the zombie with my crowbar. Maybe I could have jumped up, but I ended up just leaving it alone.

Some good concepts, but when I got into the toxic cavern at the end and found that the map was over so soon, I went back out to kill the Combines I’d driven past. There were only 3 left! (Where’d the other guys go?) Due to the music and the dearth of ammo, I didn’t want to try to fight them on my way through the first time. But after finding the caches I probably would have had enough ammo to kill them, rather than just avoiding them.

  8. Maybe?

not a bad map not too much to do and I’m not sure if I finished it I don’t believe it has an actual ending.

  9. Think Twice

Looks really good. Play is boring. Took me a bit to figure out the electric part. Need to hit the transformer several times. The boat would not start to I legged it out. Probably better that way.
