Will someone else give this map a play, there is more here then meets the eye. I am finding it tough going and running into a few problems which I am not sure are the map’s or my making. I can find a way out of the maze by noclipping, but not by playing without cheat. I am sure I have missed something, so have go and see if you can find the right route out of the maze without noclipping.

If you see a long corridor that looks like a dead end, try to go to the end of it, the wall will slide and reveal a button. The exit is a grate. But there’s this place in the maze that says BREAK and nothing would break there. Another similar place outside the maze is a long corridor with boxes and no exit except a door near which there’s a triangle and the BREAK sign. Again, nothing breaks. End of my road. Unless anyone has any ideas.

Since nothing breaks, there’s no way to get through the door with the BREAK sign, at least none that I have found. Go around. These rooms are under a battlement that can be reached from the keep in the middle of the yard. If you go up to the battlement, you can take a ramp down to the room on the other side of the door with the BREAK sign.

This room has a hidden door in the corner. Walk along the wall and press the “use” key until it opens. Don’t stop until you find Barney.

Thx. Looks like this mod is full of hidden doors…

    Avoid It!

Well, I gave it a go. Single map. No HEV, so you must run, not fight. Hidden doors with no clues whatsoever. Not rewarding, just frustrating. Give yourself a break, play something else.

Ugh, this is serious pain. A single old map with weirdness inside.
Starting in a outdoor maze you have to find a way to through it and find the HEV suit.
(There is combat with aliens before reaching the suit!)
According to the readme your goal is to find the only battery for it…
There are hidden areas in the maze which you only can access by “using” specific walls which are not obvious. I even couldn’t find a way to open the (this time) obvious door to get the suit and weapons inside. So I noclipped to it, cause combat without a suit is terrible.
Inside the maze awaits several aliens and ehm.. human enemies… also turrets.
The second and last section is a weird castle-like area.
You already heard the Apache from the maze, now you can see it.
Around the castle are also several grunts which are tough to kill with limited ammo and less weapons. The Apache is easier, if you can find the rocket launcher.
After claiming the battery for the suit, you can or have to kill Barney, finding him first.

Whatever, it’s hard to beat this oddness map due to bad balancing and design.
The maze is almost good but I just don’t see any sense, also for the castle and the story itself.
So it’s not fun to play, I’m just wondering what the author thought about it all.
Mapdesign is not bad, there are some details and the castle looks not bad.
However, it’s just a bad balanced, odd map with no atmosphere or real story and less fun.

Sorry, can’t recommend it, rather giving the advice to avoid this.

  7. Avoid It!

Literally impossible without cheats and even then it’s largely trial and error or guesswork in terms of finding the way to progress. The map is basic in every sense of the word. It’s just a maze with terrible green/blue lighting and a castle made up of spike brushes. Possibly unique in 2000, not very much so now.
