CityStreetsVille Mapping Challenge

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

For this mapping challenge, I would like you to create a map that is set in and around the streets of a city.

It doesn’t mean you have to stay ON the streets all the time. You can go under or over them, you can drive through parts too if you wish. There could be plenty going on, with Rebels around you or a dark and atmospheric setting.

The player could work their way through destroyed buildings or fight on pristine streets.

It’s your decision.

Xen Boat

for Half-Life

You are on a boat and the only way is forward.

You must reach the control panel at the front of the boat.

But first, you must open the access door.

Poll Question 306 – What’s the longest break you have had from playing HL games and mods since you first started?

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Andrew just posted a review for a Half-Life 2 map and mentioned he hadn’t played HL2 in over a year and I just couldn’t imagine not playing for more than a few weeks and that’s when I am on holiday and away from my PC.

Of course, I am passionate or obsessed, depending on your point of view, but I feel most of my readers are as addicted as I am, if not more.

This seemed an interesting question and I considered expanding it to ALL games and mods but I’m more interested in just your HL habits.

Year in Review: 2014

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

So now Christmas and New year celebrations are over, I thought I would take a look at 2014.

I have to admit that with looking back at the list of posts, very little actually comes to mind about SP release last year.

Perhaps you are one of those people who remember the names of mods and approximate release dates without checking but I’m not.

I won’t be linking to each and every post made on the site, just highlight interesting ones and mentioning other topics.

Awards 2014

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Here at PP, soon to be RunThinkShootLive, there have been intermittent end of year awards, but from now on, there will be an award ceremony every year.

Each category will be voted upon by readers but the initial list will come from the Recommendation System.

Only maps and mods actually RELEASED in 2014 will be eligible for consideration. Maps and mods are updated and lots of older maps and mods are added within any given year but those won’t be considered.

January 2015 General Chat

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So, here we are and it’s 2015. What are your gaming hopes and dreams for this year?

I’m not going to bore you with mine except to say that I am going to play more games this year.

Obviously, I have objectives for the site but I think it’s better to just forget shouting about them and get my head down.

The move to the new domain has had to be delayed a little bit because the new theme is not working quite right and it’s better to do a “Valve” and move when it’s ready rather than on a specific date. That said, I don’t think it will be delayed long.

Anyway, over to you, let’s chat.
