for Half-Life

20th June 2010

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

This mod contains all the unfinished maps etc. It was kindly released by the team, instead of just letting it stay on a hard drive.

Don’t expect a smooth ride, you will need to load some maps manually and some maps contain little or no action.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I loaded this mod but the first part pleasently surprised me. It’s a real shame that this was never finished, but such is life.

The map with the satelite dish is great and that would have made a wonderful exploration/puzzle section.

I played the training maps but not sure whetehr they were different from the originals.

Don’t forgot that this mod is unfinished, so you will need to load some of the maps manually but only if you want to play the empty maps.

    1. Pyro

So, um, which ones need to be loaded manually? Are they just empty architecture, or actual gameplay?

      1. I was hoping nobody would ask because I forgot to document them properly. I’ll try and post something when I get home tomorrow.

  2. Nrmartins

Pretty cool , I didn’t find any bugs throughout.Nice job

  3. tungsten

i played this mod years ago and got stuck and guess what I am still stuck, after a little train ride to arrive at a door that says wip I cannot get any further maybe I loaded it wrong or maybe with a few more grey matter I have lost the plot anybody help?

  4. Nrmartins

    No you lost nothing.

  5. Duke

So was that it then ? get off the train and you are done..?? How do you load the other material then ? I didn’t come across any sattelite dishes on the first 5 minutes I enjoyed (I think) and I can’t see anything to load manually, or instructions on how to do this… 🙁

  6. Duke

I guess so then, though the screenshots do show places I never saw..wierd.

We seem to be scraping the barrel now, have we simply run out of new mods, levels and conversions, or is somebody still working on something ? I’d hate to think I’ve done it all now..

While the maps do contain some action there’s very little here to warrant a download. If you like looking at what may have been then fine go download, but be warned this is a very disjointed experience with out any point. It would have been far better not to release this as a playable mod, far better to offer it up to the commonalty for someone to complete the project, however, on that point I don’t know what I am talking about.

To release this is scraping the bottom equally to attempt to play what is here is also scraping the bottom.

It’s really hard to recommend this mod for a number of reasons.
Although the beginning of the mod feels very promising, it gets rather boring as you play through, nothing especial, nothing new, you feel like “been there, done that, millions of times…”. However, that’s not the actual problem, it’s just that this mod pretty much looks like a first attempt at mapping, modding, or anything.
It should have been polished and thoroughly beta tested to avoid all those flaws like the ridiculous lag and inconsistency in some maps.
If you are a retro-gamer that is constantly looking for new mods for classic Half-Life, I suggest you keep looking.
    I give this mod 4/10.

  9. A demo has been released on modDB for the Source version of Wilson Chronicles. It seems really interesting (BLACK MESA, ha!!!! even before BMS ^^), with 2 map’s released. It seems there will be a GREAT mess of mod’s this winter…

  10. Maybe?

    Never finished it, bad gunplay

  11. Yeah, there is only an unfinished version on this site. Maybe there is a full version of this mod out there, but here’s a “full” playthrough (I’ve bumped into a wall with some temporary texture and considering this as a completion):
