This map is pretty good, the atmosphere is that of, as the name suggests, a fallout zone filled with warehouses and damaged cars, all dull colors and burning debris, the friendly NPC pathfinding left a little to be desired, I had to keep going back to get my squaddies. The combat is good, not exceptional, but at least there was some thought put into placement of enemies, not just having 10 combine soldiers rush you at every corner like some maps, I liked the touch of the occaisional citizen armed with only a stunstick or crowbar, who would then suicide charge at the combine soldiers as I tried to cover them as best I could. Just a short sequence of gunfights through some ruins basically, but I liked the atmosphere and the pacing. Simple, but I liked it.

    7/10, Good Effort
Another map, Fallout Vault 7, is, as far as I can tell, a sequel to this one. I like that also.

    404 error file not found

  3. fallout.zip

Did you read anything on the 404 page? it explains all of it.

“Due to hosting issues all the single player maps and mods files were moved to Filecloud. Everything that was previously on PlanetPhillip WILL be found there.

The link is on the right under the heading Files

  4. I think the fallout-v7.rar file is actually Fallout Vault 7

  5. I’ll look into these files tomorrow

  6. Maybe?

The download link seems to be broken. Is this mod lost? I can’t find it anywhere.

Sorry, can’t find it on the FTP. Probably lost…

Update: file found & link fixed.

        1. WOW, thank you! I saw your previous comment and was just about to reply to it “well, thank you for response anyway”.

Could you please check the mod Assaulters by the same author too?..

          runthinkshootlive.com/posts/assaulters/

Also, you might be interested, that he also created 5 mods for the first Half-Life:

          Mission impracticable
          Mission impracticable 2
          Underground territory
          Time to run
          Time to run 2

of which only Mission impracticable 2 (without credit) is on RTSL.
And also 2 mods for Opposing Force, both are present on RTSL (with credit): Snowy rock and Space disaster.

However, all his HL1 mods are still available. I found working links on hl.loess.ru which is focused solely on GoldSource classics.

He also worked in collaboration on some big HL2 modification project called “Lost in time”, later renamed Underside, which was in development around 2005-2007. The mod has never come out, there were no releases besides some media, but what’s interesting, one of the team members was LexxoR, who have much later created Depot for EP2. And on the Underside page on ModDB there is an early screenshot of the map d2_depot credited by LexxoR.

OK fixed Assaulters. Not sure I’ll have time to go through any of the HL1 mods listed but thank you for letting me know.

            1. Thank you very much! I spent numerous hours trying to find these HL2 maps, with zero success.

About those HL1 mods, I don’t insist, they are available on ModDB too, so it is unlikely that they will get lost. It feels somewhat strange that some old HL2 stuff is harder to find than even older HL1 stuff…

  9. Play It Now!

Good looking. Great game play. Ammo is scarce but health comes in droves. “Here, have a health kit”. I like the nod to HL1.
