  1. In response to the Diamonddogsville section of the discussion, there was absolutely no beta testing in either of my maps. I just didn’t find time in the end but I totally underestimated the advantage I had as the map maker seeing I assumed my lack of skill at the game would more or less override that advantage but it seems I was wrong.

I did consider doing a redux of Timely Escape where the player would be able to view the map from more angles seeing the important objectives before (manually) starting the clock and where the wall hints were replaced by textures (as initially intended) but I figured the map has been done and a re-release wouldn’t really bring anything new to the table.

No big releases in production though I’m working on several smaller releases throughout this coming year. (an approach inspired by Foofinoos spree of maps towards the end of last year) First thing is to finish the map that I started for RunThinkShootLiveville after that I’ve got about half a map abandoned from Combinationville that I’m looking to re-purpose and one map that I was working on just before RTSLville was announced. (not necessarily in that order)

Very interesting just hearing a discussion about past maps.

Haha, I have to apologize for how many times I said “I didn’t get the chance” to play all these Source releases. Trying to rectify that now!

  4. Great podcast guys. Got me through a busy couple of hours at work.

Also, many thanks for the kind words regarding The Core. All being well you’ll be able to give it the once over and review it within the next 12 months. 😀

I’m suprised Darren didn’t like the stealth in Underhell, it was very well done for a source mod, I guess the only problem I had with it was that the enemy went into alert as soon as the player was within view.
