Week 45

11th November 2016

Last month I broke from the usual and streamed a HalloweenVille Double Feature. This month we’re back to going down the Ville list.

Next up I’ll be streaming DefendVille for The Ville Retrospective. The stream will start at 10am EST on Saturday, which is 3pm GMT and 4pm CET time.

Hope to see you there! I’ll have a copy of the superb Subnautica to give away too.

You should double check the Time & Date.Com website for your local time.

All streams will be on the RTSL Twitch Channel.

If you have any questions about the streams, just ask.

  1. Hey Unq, just figured I’d mention I did a revamped version of my defendville entry. It’s ridiculously hard, but might be worth playing instead of the original on stream, if you’ve got the time.

    1. Unq

Thanks for the note! I grabbed it and will play the updated version.

Here’s the ‘Modder’s Cut’ for anyone else interested: http://www.runthinkshootlive.com/posts/outpost-529-modders-cut/

  2. Ah, DefendVille. The one where you wait. And wait. And wait. X)

  3. Back from the dead to quickly gauge interest on a concept I have been putting together for a HL2 level.

You are a human who is being put in for the augmentation process to become a Overwatch soldier.

During this your character is reliving some of their older memories as they lie unconscious during the process, the player relives a memory of the seven hour war, during the start of the level these events play out as you would expect, you as a human soldier fighting off the invading combine.

But during the level things begin to change as the combine are augmenting the player’s character, which includes a memory replacement. This causes things to suddenly change in the level, such as that the player is now in a squad of combine soldiers, fighting rebels that area attacking instead. The player’s memories switch between these two versions randomly during the level until their memory replacement is complete at which the level approaches it’s end with the player fighting as a combine soldier, winning the battle and ending the war.
