  1. Phillip says Avoid It!

I am not a big fan of arena style maps and this one is too limited to appeal to me. I played for longer than I should just to experiment. I moved all the shelves to the edge of the room and collected the health and weapons into one corner.

At that point the soldiers stopped spawning. If the map had fixed shelves and was a more interesting shape it might have kept me interested for longer.

I have tagged this map as short because the soldiers stopped spawning but maybe they keep spawning for you, in which case I would appreicate your telling me, so I can edit the tag.

    Not interesting enough for me.

Well I got 15 guys before they stopped spawningbut since I used grenade and every corner was blocked I think its a bug. The map itself was not that bad. I mean it was awful timewaste but at least it had something in it (unlike my maps).

  3. A terrible lack of interesting maps lately.

Don’t worry, world. I’m coming home soon.

    Think Twice

i have played this map with special atention on what is triggered and when because you’ve asked us to tell you how we did Phillip.

but let me first say what I thought about this map, I don’t go that far to say it’sa waste of time, because some people will love this kind of arena gameplay style. but I think that even for those it’s way to simple and small. I give it a Think Twice therefore.

    now about the combines spawning.
when you place combines or there spawnpoints there are severel options to do so. and one of them is to make a combine spawn while you as player are not in sight. so, not that you’re not looking in there spawn point direction but that something is standing between you and him.
so, as long as there are models that can block the line of sight between you and the combine spawnpoint it will spawn. but, quit soon there is done so much damage to the models that there is always a clear line of sight between you and the spawn that the spawning does stop.
i hope I explained this well enough, if not I am willing to explain it better.
i think I played the map 3 times, what means untill the spawning did end. and as soon as I realised how it worked I was able to get the spawning up to 34 combines, just by keeping the models as much in tact as possible. I don’t know why there are 3 to sometimes 4 combines spawning in the beginning while at the end I had trouble to get even one spawned.
still, I am quit sure that it works like this.
so, Think twice. it was fun for 5 min.s
just worth the loading of the map I guess.

states the guy who loves fighting large amounts of combine O_O

  6. Maybe?

I’ll say Maybe, for the people who like this kind of map. The only drawback for them would be that the Combine will eventually quit spawning.

I got 68 kills before I stopped–some may still spawn for me, but probably not for much longer if it works as Leon says. I didn’t try to clear the shelves out of the way until they were more of an obstacle (to movement, not shooting).

It might be more “exciting” if ammo weren’t so plentiful and, for now, health.
