Installation Instructions

These two maps come with an executable installer. All you need to do is ensure the path to the Episode 1 map folder is correct.

Important Note

Not matter what I did the second level never loaded for me so I had to load it manually. To do this open the console and type map svos2 and press enter. You will also need get the HEV suit and some weapons. Being lazy I just opened the console again and typed impulse 101.

It’s not a bad couple of levels but it’s clearly not finished or polished in the same way most other mods are. The action is limited and the level join doesn’t work.

Architecture: Average, all brush built areas were square with models to fill them out.

Layout: The layout was quite well planned, though the levels are incomplete (at one point it is possible to walk off the end of the map and fall to your death in the void of the skybox.

Lighting: Lighting was well done but nothing special.

Atmosphere: The level was too short to have any real feel or atmosphere though you did get the feel of escaping the combine forces.

Difficulty: Simplistic all the way up to the final fight which is more frustrating than hard as I found it nearly impossible to shoot the bombs without getting shot myself by the helicopter. Also the troop of enemy soldiers didn’t react when I played; instead they rushed me only at the end when the screen was fading.

Other notes: This could have been an excellent two levels were it not for the fact they are too short and incomplete. I did like the second train level as I have been trying to do something similar myself.

can’t go from map 1 to map 2.
    Low interest

This has more bugs than my attempts at coding! I can’t transition from level 1 to 2, and when I gave up and just sent myself to level 2, I had to use god mode because it was just that impossible! There’s even a physgun without any physics objects to use. What cruel joke is this game that I play?!

No auto level change with the end scene a bit on the hard side, otherwise a short game sparse on content and only part 1 of something.

    S’all been said above really,
Also a bit of dialogue would have been helpful to fill in the mood. I seem to be in complete silence in the first part.
I also used “god” for the helicopter – I don’t think it’s achievable otherwise.
the broken llink to map2 puts the cap on it, just ruins it!

    Hall of Infamy. Yuck.
    Map 1 not worth playing
    Map 2 Awful
If you do not know how to use the console, you are stuffed.
