Poll Question 306 – What’s the longest break you have had from playing HL games and mods since you first started?
Andrew just posted a review for a Half-Life 2 map and mentioned he hadn’t played HL2 in over a year and I just couldn’t imagine not playing for more than a few weeks and that’s when I am on holiday and away from my PC.
Of course, I am passionate or obsessed, depending on your point of view, but I feel most of my readers are as addicted as I am, if not more.
This seemed an interesting question and I considered expanding it to ALL games and mods but I’m more interested in just your HL habits.

Rising Waterfor Half-Life 2: Episode Two
“Rising water is a single player, standalone level for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. On his way to a rebel outpost with Alyx, Gordon gets into some car trouble. With split second reaction time, Alyx is able to jump out of the buggy before Gordon accidently drives it into an Antlion cave.
After recovering from the fall, Gordon realizes the cave is not only full of Antlions, but the water in it is rising fast from the rain, and it is full of leeches! Gordon must climb, run, jump and punt Antlions with the gravity gun to get to the top of the cave before it is too late.”

Complete Opposing Force Walkthrough
Again, I am very pleased to announce the release of, what I am sure is without doubt, the most comprehensive walkthrough of Opposing Force available.
It was made possible by the writing and research of Stanley E. Dunigan and the formatting skills of William Barnard.
Together, we have created a PDF version that can be viewed both online and printed.

The OpposingForceNovemberFest Event
During November, I will be having another map and mod event.
It’s called the:
OpposingForceNovemberFest.
Originally, it was going to be during October and the “OFOF” would have sounded cooler, but I just couldn’t get it ready in time.

Opposing Force: Pit Worm’s Nest
The chapter details Adrian Shephard’s battle with the monstrous Pit Worm which is blocking his progress through Waste Processing Area 3.
Working his way through the surrounding area (littered with the corpses of the Marines who sent the distress signal in the previous chapter), Shephard manages to dump toxic waste on the Pit Worm, killing it and allowing him to access the next area.
