Somebody just asked for a copy of DOTA 2 and since I still have about 30 left, I sent them one.
But as I was doing it, I noticed a new button underneath the usual ones: SELL.
So I click it and the image below is what I saw.
I don’t know if this is related to the German judgement about Valve having to let users sell their games or not but the other games I tried didn’t have the option.
I put one up for sale at 1 Euro to me, they pay 1.15, just to see what would happen – nothing so far.
Any thoughts or explanation on this?

A few weeks ago they added the ability to sell Dota 2 on the Community Marketplace, not entirely sure why, it should be easy enough to find someone giving copies away rather than paying for it.
I’ve had a handful of copies up for $0.04 for the past week or so and they haven’t sold.
This is (maybe) the dumb question of the day? “What is Dota 2??) Never heard of it, I’m curently playing “Crysis 3” is it simular?? 😀
DOTA 2 is a game being developed by Valve. More information on the website: DOTA2.Com and Steam.
Everyone sells theirs at about 0.02 American dollars, so there is really no point. Unless you have the special dota 2’s that can be used in China.

I am going to give most of mine to the DOTA 2 Bot.
How come everyone has so many copies of DOTA2 left? Is it such a flop?
If you’re into that kind of game, it’s actually pretty excellent.
It’s being played a fair bit at competitive levels as well
It’s more the fact that everyone who got into the beta early was given around 15 keys each. There just aren’t enough people to go around to take them.
How bad that game must be that people don’t want it even if it’s free.
Some buddy gifted me a copy and I didn’t even activate it in my library.
It’s a good point. I wonder if we have become to “game rich” and have lost our appreciation, delight and wonder when playing them. Or not, in this case.
Maybe people are just fed up with Valve cheaply commercializing yet another mod instead of finally delivering new content with HL2:EP3…
It’s a great game but it’s in beta at the moment with no tutorial system and such, this is a game with a notoriously steep learning curve so new players are probably put off.
Either way, even in beta there are 3 million unique players according to the stats, people are certainly not fed up.
So we have about 3 million hardcore beta-testers, but it seems nobody else is interested right now :)!
