Black Forest Beta

for Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

You begin in a tunnel that starts to collapse, “Run!” shouts Alyx, as she sprints ahead of you. Phew, you seemed to have made it out alive, but Alyx is nowhere to be seen.

This map is apparently based on the Black Forest in Germany. As you might have noticed from the tags it’s still in beta and this map is part of a larger mod.

Poll Question 197 – Would you like a mod that offered you more control over what weapons you had?

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

I’m not sure what got me thinking about this but I know that a lot of players are really interested in different types of weapons. I’m not. I’ll take whatever the mapper gives me and use that.

I wonder if players would like more “load-out” style rooms before certain sections of mods. I understand that it gives mods some replay value by adding more variables but just feels too artificial for me.

Paranoia Map

for Half-Life 2: Episode Two

A short map that attempts top scare you. The author claims it “make you jump with fear, and hide behind your chair”. Though I humblely suggest this is only true if you are less than 6 years old. It was made as a tribute to Nightmare House 2.

The Sprucecape Mappack

for Half-Life 2: Episode One

This release has been updated: The Sprucecape Mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two.

You play the role of John Sprucecape. Apparently, a “once a successful professor of philosophy, but now a violent unemployed middle-aged man with an alcohol addiction”.

You wake up to find yourself locked in the house and your family gone. Go look for them! Of course Life has a way of throwing stuff in your way, as I am sure you expected.
