  1. This is a map that was firstly done to lurn how can act the rebellion in helping under a huge attack of Manhack don’t think there is an end to this map that is fun to play for 10 minutes in an correct layout

  2. Majordie4

Nice mod I like defence mods there good and keep it up with the constant slaughter >:)! -Manhacks oqwn you noobs.

  3. Phillip says Avoid It!

I’ve tagged this as never-ending but I am guessing this is the case as I got completely bored in about 5 minutes. I played twice and both times the map crashed on my, so I am taking that as the Universe telling me to stop playing.

I’m not against never-ending maps as a concept but feel they need to keep varying things and have more interesting layouts. I don’t necessarily mean they have to get harder but there should be some progression.

All in all, I didn’t enjoy this at all.

  4. Avoiding on the grounds that Manhacks are one of the most annoying enemies in gaming history.

    1. If you’re going to make the player fight a Manhack swarm, the least you can do is give them the Gravity Gun. Manhacks without it should be used sparingly and as a way of mixing things up, complementing normal combat. The only time Valve uses them for “shock and awe” is the swarm in the canals where you have to adjust the water level, but they give you tons of exploding barrels to help out.

Plus, not everyone knows how useful the Gravity Gun is against them, so they’ll sit there plinking away with the Pistol and get frustrated.

  5. Maybe?

not a bad game but as phillip stated unless you enjoy never ending games then 10 minutes may be your limit
that said after just over 10 minutes ( approx ) i was greeted with the onscreen message saying ” your victorious ” so there is a ending and im presuming its set to the amount of manhacks your destroy
however this is another map were a few days more work and some extra scenery would of made this much better ….
worth a “maybe” but nothing more …

  6. It looks like a neat location idea, props for that. Someone should build on this.

  7. Avoid It!

Well, the architecture is alright, albeit simple… that’s really all I can say in favour this map. There aren’t enough manhacks to be challenging or interesting, and there aren’t enough weapons either. I might’ve kept going to see if the number of manhacks increased to something more fun, but this map crashed my HL2… yeah, I recommend you stay away from this one.

  8. Maybe?

Follow my journey as I go down the list of source mods at http://www.runthinkshootlive.com/hl2/

This is the 12th one on the list.

Another siege map, this time against flying rotor machines. The readme says this map is a tutorial on how to make your own siege map. As mentioned above, about 10-20 minutes somewhere the game will end saying you are victorious, if you live that long. Not too hard, since it’s fairly easy to out run manhacks since the map is pretty big and you can repeatedly prop up that sentry to distract them. Try it if you are looking for a challenge (since the map does have an ending)

    Avoid It!

I have always hated manhacks in HL2. Here is not the exception.

Is quite Fun the first 20 seconds to shoot those evil things with the mounted Mach guns but after that the map is just completely stupid.

I’d prefer to fight some CMB soldiers in there you know, is the perfect “defend the beach” location. That would be even more fun and realistic than this.

Overall I didn’t enjoy this one. Was annoying to say the least.

  10. Think Twice

Instant boring map. Nothing to do, more than killing manhacks.
    1/10 nothing to say.

  11. Think Twice

All I’m going to say is that I’m glad I set my difficulty on easy. Because I’m not going to spend my time and patience at this most boring and obnoxious HL2 NPC called manhack. I didn’t liked fighting them in OG HL2 and I don’t like to do it in mods. Map sets place in some port where we defend our spot from incoming swarm of manhacks. We have a few rebel allies here and two of them using mounted machine guns. The game starts with pistol. Other weapons and ammo are scattered across the map. All I can say about gameplay that it’s boring. It’s like swatting annoying flies in real life. Fight manhacks 20 min and then “you win” text appears and that’s all. However it’s not defend a spot in a room or box which is the only positive point. Author’s description positions this map as an example for making defense maps. Maybe for basics but it used the worst enemy for defense maps.
