Decay: Solo Mission a ground-up port of Half-Life: Decay that allows for seamless single-player gameplay in place of the original co-op. But it’ll also have fixes, more detail, and polishing where warranted for an improved experience.

This is a demo featuring about 20-30 minutes worth of gameplay and is taken from the opening chapters Dual Access and Hazardous Course.

  • Copy the dsm_demo_v12 folder (and if desired, the dsm_demo_v12_hd folder) into your SteamApps\common\Half-Life folder.
  • Restart or start Steam.
  • Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission (DEMO V1.2) should now be listed in your Library.

    This looks okay, but there already is a remake of Decay for Half-Life in which you can even switch between the characters like in the original game!

      The intention of this mod is to remake the original game into a single-player experience, not to do yet another 1:1 port of the game to PC.

    Well, this is a nice little Demo that indeed turns the HL Decay coop experience into a Single Player one.

    So I guess it’s worth it. Also, the whole 2-3 maps felt quite polished and professional.

    My only and definitive complaint is the length of the mod which is quite short. I mean if you took the bother of turning it into a SP why not make a proper mod and make it longer?

    That would be cool.
