Starting in the kitchen you need to kill everything you find and then look for the secret button to release the floor doors and enter the underground area.

That’s all there is: no story, just an excuse to shoot stuff.

Sounds fun to me!

Spot the difference – a mapping challenge

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Art mods, Alt mods, Creative mods call them what you will, they have become more popular recently.

Whilst I am not a big fan of them, I recognise and applaud the creativity involved.

Using game engines for things other than gaming is certainly not new and and the more we explore possible uses the more interesting things get.

Made for a Russian forum mapping competition, this map puts you back in Black Mesa.

You need to find your way to the army truck that can be driven to safety.

Of course, plenty of enemies and obstacles stand (and run) in your way.

Well, here we are after nearly 3 weeks of 100SDoN and I thought I would use this week’s poll question to find out how many PP readers are playing the maps and mods.

Besides the really crappy maps and the pressure of having to add one map or mod every day I am really enjoying the whole thing.

A new device was developed to stop the alien invasion. That device can disturb transporter signals, so aliens can’t beam in to attack and it is the same for humans. That means no further research in XEN. The Administrator decided to cancel the project, but some scientists blocked all entrances to the Transporter Tesearch labs to continue their work. They finished construction, but were not able to activate it. Your mission is to find that device and activate it. It is located somewhere in the New Mesa Complex. Good luck!

Gman Island Part 2

Here is the text from the start of the mod…“After destroying Black Mesa, the Gman went into hiding. Previously the island was managed by the government, now it is controlled by the Gman.

In there, aliens are subjected to experiments and research. However, something is beginning to happen!”
