5 Ways to Die

for Half-Life

Sci- Fi Single Player First Person Shooter Games Half Life 2 Doom 3 Far Cry Unreal UT2004 Quake Mods
About

This is in essence a trap map but it has a puzzle sense to it as well…There are 5 main rooms (lots of corridors though) and in each room there’s at least 2 ways to go. 1 or 2 will lead to death, only 1 will lead to survival.. Its pure luck until the end where it turns to a puzzle.

    Author has a new map…
    “5 More Ways To Die”

  2. Thanks for the information, I’ll add it later today.

  3. 1 map. Choose a door, get it wrong and you die. Repeat 5 times. Mildly amusing. 5 minutes play.

    Think Twice

ditto 5 more ways to die; A very simplistic map just take the right door to survive the wrong door leads to instant death, that’s it.

  5. Maybe?

Pretty much what piledriver said: try to get to the end through a series of doors without bypassing any booby traps. I went back just to see all the death sequences. A fun little diversion.

  6. Avoid It!

Single map. Multiple choice, you are being asked 5 times to pick either way A or B, one is always deadly. Boring.

    Pro’s:
-Some scripts although… naw, no pro’s

    Con’s:
    -Pointless
    -Ridiculous
-Very short playtime (~1-2 min, speedrunners do it in less than 10 seconds I’m afraid lol)
    -Balancing lol
-Basic mapping, boxy, undetailed – at least average lighting
    -No atmosphere, no thrill
    -Replaying later is like foreclosed
    -Poor Barney

  7. Maybe?

Remember the sequence of left-right-etc until you get it right, and that’s about it. Play it if you have a few minutes but don’t expect too much.

    Think Twice

This is one of those maps that accidentally has some value. On the surface it’s just a pick-a-door-and-maybe-you’ll-die game, but you can also see how many of the traps you can escape (including the final one), and one of them involves a huge ambush that you can survive if your timing is right, and even use to your advantage if you’re clever.

It’s funny to see that the author is Archie, one of the two guys working on the highly-anticipated The Core.
